Pim Hill Heifer makes £2,250 at Christmas Show and Sale

The annual Christmas Dairy Show and Sale at Shrewsbury Auction Centre on December 13 saw good entry of quality animals from a variety of English and Welsh breeders.
The prize show, sponsored by Hatchers Solicitors and Allflex Tags, was won by Messrs R. Mayall and daughters’ Pim Hill Herd whose Zenith heifer, out of a VG Shottel Dam and also a VG Juror Indro Grand Dam, sold for £2,250. She was freshly calved, giving 34 kilos of milk.
Next highest price was achieved by Jean Wilson of Lower Wood Herd from Alberbury, Shrewsbury who presented a smart heifer by a son of Morty, which sold at £2,200.
The cow class was headed by Martin Jones with a Jordan third calved cow from his Durbyfield Herd at Asterley, near Shrewsbury, which realised £2,020.
There was no shortage of buyers for an abundance of heifers that sold for between £1,800-£2,000.
