August 17, 2010
Ever wondered about the value of an old painting or a library of books that have been handed down to you and now reside in your home?
You can discover the answer free of charge when William Lacey, paintings and books specialist at leading Shropshire fine art auction house Halls, holds the latest in a series of monthly fine art appraisals at Weston Park, Weston-under-Lizard, near Shifnal on Friday, July 2.
Mr Lacey will be available to give professional appraisals of oil and watercolour paintings, etchings, prints, maps and books at The Granary Art Gallery at Weston Park from 11am to 2pm.
The series continues with a jewellery, watches and coins appraisal with Halls' specialists Christina Trevanion and Derek Ainsworth on August 6.
The other dates are: pictures and clocks on September 3, ceramics and glass on October 8, jewellery, watches and coins on November 5 and toys and collectables on December 3.
The appraisals have been arranged by Gareth Wlliams, Weston Park Foundation's curator and head of learning, to compliment the selling exhibitions in the The Granary Art Gallery.
"With fine art prices rising at auction in the current economic climate, these fine art appraisals at Weston Park provide an excellent opportunity for people living along the Shropshire and Staffordshire border to have treasured items assessed and valued free of charge by our professional team, " said Mr Lamond.
