Successful Collective Machinery Auction to End the Year
2nd December 2011
Halls’ final collective machinery auction of 2011 at The Gallops, Stanklyn Lane, Stone, near Kidderminster proved a success as a large crowd braved the cold weather to see a wide variety of lots go under the hammer on November 25.
Top price of the day went to a Massey Ferguson 1260 compact tractor, which sold for £3,650. Other note able prices were £2,800 for a Renault Master horse lorry, £2,350 for a Richard Western 10 tonne muck spreader and £1,650 for an Ifor Williams 14ft x 6ft twin axle trailer.
The vehicles and trailers sections had a high number of entries, with good prices achieved, including a Vauxhall Movano Camper at £1,400, a Land Rover Discovery (TDI) at £980 and a Nissan Terrano at £900.
Trailers included a twin axle diesel bowser, which made £1,400, a 16ft Ifor Williams flatbed trailer, which made £1,200 and a Ifor Williams TA5G stock trailer, which made £1,020.
Top prices in the farm implements section were £760 for a seven-leg scuffle, £640 for a Kidd saw bench, £580 for an old Parmiter post knocker and £540 for a Bateman cattle crush.
There was a large number of entries in the garden machinery section despite the time of year. Top price of £480 went to a Mountfield ride-on mower. More suited to the time of year were a variety of log burners and a large number of entries of firewood, which all sold well.
As there is no Stone sale in December, the next auction will be held on Friday, January 27, with the catalogue deadline being Monday, January 16.
